Sat 8th April sees us return to The City Tavern, this time for a business-as-usual headline slot. This is a cool venue. We recently played there with Transmission - nice bunch of guys. John bumped into them after the show at the A40 service stations, where unfortunately the fire alarm had been activated so it took ages to get any petrol - still, a good opportunity to have a nice chat.

Sat 29th April - we're taking part in The Exeter Hall's May Day Holiday weekend festival. Loads of bands. Should be excellent.

2006 - Not sure what thing it's the year of in China, but one thing's for sure - on the rain-starved soil of Britain it's definitely shaping up as the year of The Shirley. It could just be a matter of time before the Chinese find themselves whistling Shirley melodies as they go about their daily business, riding bicycles and stuff. But enough of conjecture, let's focus on certainty -

Certainly tonight you can go to bed safe in the knowledge that you got behind us before we became a global icon and for that we thank you

Are Shirley included in the line-up for the Punt in May? - Certainly

Are things on the move? - Certainly

And most importantly Neil's got a new drum kit, which is see through, so can see what colour socks he's wearing.

A lot of People have been asking us…

Whether we use the services of a dream-interpreter? Naturally we do. One of Shirley's band members, who would prefer to remain anonymous, has been having recurring dreams featuring Radio 1's Jo Whiley. The most recent was extremely detailed and we ran this by Vlad, who gave us some encouraging insight. 'Clearly, this celebrity link is a powerfully positive subconscious condition that bodes well for the foreseeable future of Shirley'. Thanks for that Vlad. We'll be in touch.
