November 2006 (List all) We are Shirley - November Edition
Shirley Shows
Shock horror - we have a gig this month! Catch us at the refurbished Exeter Hall in Oxford on Friday 17th. If you haven't been down recently the Exeter Hall is now a fantastic venue. Definitely recommended for S.A.D sufferers out there. Come and have an invigorating romp with Shirley to lift the spirits. Being a band of extremes, we already have 3 dates lined up for December, getting us honed for the increased schedule that awaits in 2007
To avoid disappointment, remember to always check with our website before travelling.
News
We are excited to announce the edition of Lucy to ZerodB's promotional team. Lucy's connections should ensure we'll be gigging all the right venues up and down the country to promote arguably the most exciting album to come out this decade. It shall be entitled 'Vintage'. We're confident Lucy will get us up in the sky, with or without the diamonds.
The release of the album in download format looks like it won't be out until April/May next year so we're looking into getting CDs pressed. If you want to pre-book a copy, let us know
The band are currently working on a couple of new tracks - 'Killing Kind' and 'The Curse of Tutenkhamun' Hopefully they'll be in the live set real soon
It could be You!
This month’s lucky winner of the Shirley prizedraw is Nicola Coleridge
Everyone on our mailing list gets automatically entered each month, so if there’s someone out there not on it, make sure they sign up!
A lot of People have been asking us...
How we'd like to ideally travel to our gigs. Inspired by Stephen Ellison of Winsford, Cheshire, we're looking into acquiring a 1974 Sabre light reconnaissance tank, when the band fund's looking a bit healthier, not just to buy one, but also to fill it up at £300 a pop. Although tricky to park, the 30mm gun usually acts as a good deterrent to over-zealous traffic-wardens. At 4 miles to the gallon, we'd probably only use it for local shows, with one of us having to walk, as it only seats 3. Steve's wife is a bit shy and doesn't like the added attention, so she prefers her Renault Megane. That's ok, Tracy. We understand.
