The launch of 'Shirley Wed'

With immense pride and high expectation we launch our monthly residency at The Exeter Hall. For a while we've been looking for a suitable venue in Oxford. Ali has always been a big Shirley fan, and particularly since the refurbishment, we love the atmosphere of The Exeter Hall. We're jazzed about having the opportunity to run our own night there. Our aim is to put on a fabulous night's entertainment, keeping the quality high and the price low.
'Shirley Wed' nights will open with an acoustic act, followed by a guest band, with ourselves headlining. We're going to use the nights to unveil new Shirley material, so make sure you're there to get a first listen to the new material coming through.
This month we are delighted to have Kate Chadwick and Wire Jesus appearing. You'll find Shirley special guests listed in our top friends on myspace for easy access, should you fancy a little appetiser.

Doors 8.00 pm. Admission on the night is £3. You can get online tickets in advance for £2 by using the link below.

A lot of People have been asking us...

If there's any truth to the rumour that Bruce Springsteen collaborated on Shirley's latest song 'Shine a Light'. Those lucky enough to savour a sneak preview of this gospel offering have found it hard to believe that the song could have emanated solely from the writing talent to be found within the band. We can indeed confirm that Bruce did have a hand in the writing of the song, albeit in a metaphysical kind of way. Twas in a dream that Jan did have, that Bruce appeared at the foot of the bed, belting out this classic. Top tip - always keep a Dictaphone near your bed. Such subconscious appearances are rare and not to be squandered. Sweet dreams and be ready to be awoken big time on the 11th xx
