Help Shirley Chart
On Thursday 17th April we are aiming to get as many people as possible to download our song 'Heavy Love' off iTunes. By getting enough downloads on that day we're hoping to make it into the UK's official download chart. An exciting prospect indeed. To help promote the song we'll have our video up early April and there's the launch gig the night before at The Jericho Tavern in Oxford. We are aiming to get local press, radio and TV behind the campaign.
We are currently recruiting an army of Shirley fans and friends to help spread the word. These worthy helpers have earned the title 'Shirley's Angels' and are destined to be actively involved in shaping the destiny of Shirley. We currently have over 50 in place but would love to get around 200. The more we get, the better our chance. Being a Shirley's Angel will involve emailing your contacts about the video and single and any other ingenious marketing ideas you might come up with to help spread the word and further the 'help Shirley chart' campaign. Please get in touch if you'd like to get involved.
New Material
We've had amazing feedback on our recent recordings (check out 'Gallows Night' on our myspace if you haven't already) and have some great new songs currently under construction. We're hoping epic 'The Desert Song' will be ready to gig soon. You're going to love that one. There's definitely the feeling that we have really honed our own sound of late and more clearly defined our direction.
Video
The video for 'Heavy Love' will be up on myspace and anywhere alse that will have it early April to help push the 'Help Shirley Chart' campaign. Expect general zaniness, levitation and near fatal collisions with cyclists and pedestrians.

A lot of People have been asking us...
Whether we find it hard marrying our artistry with the more commercial doctrine of marketing. This is certainly a tricky issue that most bands face in this day and age. For help on this we consulted American lifecoach and master of 'The Secret' Joe Vitale. Joe's take on this is that marketing is merely 'sharing your belief in what you love with people who would be most interested in it'. We certainly believe in what we do and love it to boot and are constantly looking to win over new people, so that certainly sits well with us. Thanks Joe.
