The ‘Help Shirley Chart’ Campaign

With almost military precision, Shirley’s plan to storm the UK Download chart is coming together. Though surrounded and outnumbered by the marketing might of the record industry forces, we find ourselves entrenched on our Bunker Hill. The powder kegs are almost empty and our muskets not too accurate, but we are armed, my fiends, with a cheeky defiance, a song that is the paragon of Powerpop, a unique video (will be up on our myspace 8th April) and the enlisted support of our brigade of loyal ‘Shirley’s Angels’. Timing is the key. As William Prescott said ‘Don’t fire until you see the whites of their eyes’. By getting everyone to download on the same day - Thursday April 17th - we have the potential to unleash a devastating volley that will leave the watching world reeling in it’s tracks. As the lone bugler plays out his final tune, we call on you to join us. Take joy in watching the video and proudly pull the trigger on the 17th. Join us in our cry of ‘Freedom’ and when the smoke has cleared and the dust has settled, victorious or not, we will take comfort in the knowledge that we stood to the last!
