A lot of People have been asking us...
Who played the triangle our single ‘The Snowman’? Early on in the recording process we realised the important role that percussion was going to play in making the track really work. Having just received a substantial royalty cheque from our download sales, no expense was spared in flying in triangle virtuoso Enrike Salvador to guest on the track. The musical triangle is one of the least appreciated percussion instruments there is, but in the right hands it has wondrous potential. Watching Enrike in action was a true joy. A total pro and master of understatement, Enrike decided that but one single chime would be required for the song. Unsurprisingly it took the maestro just one take, delivering with the deftest of touch perfect sonority and rich overtones from the bottom bar of his favoured eight inch model without a clamp. It’s such an honour for us to join the likes of Beethoven, Stravinsky, and Bernstein as composers who thought the instrument worthy enough to include in their masterpieces. As Duke Ellington said ...” if it sounds good, it is good”. ‘The Snowman’ is still up on our profile, so have a listen if you haven’t already and feel free to download it. Let the bells ring out on a great 2009 for all of us.
