News
Last Week
Was really exciting, playing three nights on the trot and culminating in supporting the outstanding talent of Ash Grunwald at The o2 Academy in Oxford. We had the pleasure of meeting Ash backstage and what a nice chap he is. How he manages not to have a cranial meltdown whilst producing such a wall of sound single-handedly remains a mystery.
The Expansion of Silvanito Nights
We are delighted to announce that we are starting up our own night at Loom, near Great Portland Street. This is an ideally located bar in London (also within easy walking distance of Oxford Circus) with a fantastic atmosphere. Our first one is on Sunday 19th April. It’s an early start, early finish night (7.00-10.30pm) with ourselves and two guest bands appearing. A flyer gets you in for £4. For directions and venue info, visit http://www.loombar.co.uk. Please support the launch of this new night for us.
Our guest band is yet to be confirmed at The Jericho Tavern for Sunday 26th April, but we are happy to announce that Tamara will be opening.
As always you can get £2 tickets in advance for this event courtesy of wegottickets.com. Please note tickets will come off sale on the day of the gig, as we have to print off the list, so book early to avoid disappointment.
New Material
‘Unrepentant’ now sits proudly in the set and ‘Headful of Stars’ was introduced to those at The Jericho Tavern, receiving a very favourable response.
It could be You!
This month’s lucky winner of the Silvanito prizedraw is Ant.
Don’t forget everyone on our mailing list gets automatically entered each month, so don’t miss out, make sure you’re signed up. (http://www.shirleymusic.co.uk)
A lot of People have been asking us...
How they can avoid a shit sandwich. This is a term that I was recently introduced to, used in the context of describing a gig line-up where the middle act is, to put it politely, of lesser quality than the opening and headlining bands. Having personally experienced a couple of these unsavoury sandwiches of late, the best piece of advice I can offer is to get along to one of our Silvanito Nights. Because we run the nights ourselves, we only put on acts of the highest calibre, ensuring a great night all round. As such we recommend getting down early enough to catch all the acts. For London-based fans, there’s now the added bonus of catching such a night at Loom as of this month.
